POSTPONED UNTIL LATER THIS SUMMER
Family Education meeting June 21st:
Many families have a loved one who is coping with both gender identity changes or questions, and increased mental health needs. Mental health risk factors can be markedly higher for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults. Families may not know where to start to address supporting their loved one. GLYS (Growing LGBTQ + Youth Support) is proud to share information on youth, adult and family issues relating to gender, sexuality and the process of being authentic and whole. We will share terms, pronouns, statistics, and local resources. We’ll learn about services that GLYS provides for youth, families, education, medical, spiritual, legal and mental health providers. We’re pleased to have GLYS present at this Family Education meeting and we wish everyone a Happy Pride Month!
There will be a question/answer period for discussion after the presentation.
To register to attend, email online@namibuffalony.org to request registration.
Once registered, we will send you the link to join the meeting. There is no charge to attend the Family Education meeting. The meeting is open to adults who want to learn more about the topic, and about NAMI Buffalo & Erie County.
We look forward to having you join us.
