Family Support Group
Our Family Support Groups are facilitated, confidential support for family members and caregivers concerned about and/or caring for a person with mental illness. Leaders are trained NAMI members who have lived family experience with a loved one’s struggles with mental illness. There is no charge to attend a Family Support Group. This group is not appropriate for a person who has a diagnosis unless they are attending as a caregiver of a loved one who has mental illness.
Groups are available on a drop-in basis at community locations; and online (Zoom). Check our calendar for dates and times. Online groups require pre-registration. To ask to register, email to online@namibuffalony.org with your name, the online group date you are requesting, the name of the group you wish to attend, and a phone number where we can reach you to provide registration details. In-person groups do not require pre-registration.
For questions, call the office at 716-226-6264.
For those who have a mental illness diagnosis and are looking for a support group, please see our Peer Support Resources or call us for referrals for peer support services.
NAMI Family Support Group is not a clinical service and does not substitute for counseling or needed therapeutic care. NAMI national does not permit student or other outside observers at our groups.
