Family Support Group
Our Family Support Groups are facilitated, confidential support for family members and caregivers concerned about and/or caring for a person with mental illness. Leaders are trained NAMI members who have lived family experience with a loved one’s struggles with mental illness. This group is not appropriate for a person who has a diagnosis unless they are attending as a caregiver of a loved one who has mental illness.
Our support groups are available on a drop-in basis at community locations, and online (Zoom) with pre-registration. Check our calendar for dates and times. Online groups require pre-registration. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, the online group date you are requesting, the name of the group you wish to attend (“General” or “Spouses”, etc.), and a phone number where we can reach you to provide registration details. In-person groups do not require pre-registration.
For questions, call the office at 716-226-6264. If you are in the Niagara Falls or Lockport metro area and need transportation to be able to attend (free), please call Niagara Falls Memorial Center at 716-343-3061 to schedule it.
For those who have a mental illness diagnosis and are looking for a support group, please see our Peer Support Resources or call us for referrals for peer support services.
